I'm pretty sure the majority of my basil plants died while I was away. My mother was supposed to be looking after them, and she tells me that they all wilted the day after I left. There's only one plant in the big pot. Surprisingly though, all of the plants in the little container made it! They all appear healthy and thriving. They're measurable at this point, so I'll start adding measurements to my blogs.

I leave for Mackinac island on Saturday. I'm going to take my little basil pot with me. Unless the big pot makes some miraculous recovery, I'm probably giving up on that one. Not sure how long they'll last. These plants seem very fussy.

Day 6

Soooo, I'm really dumb and literally forgot about my plants for the past two days. I was cleaning the kitchen or something, and I saw the pot and I was like, oh shoot, forgot about that. I went over there to take a picture of some dirt and discovered actual seedlings!! Oooooops.

I've been kind of mentally noting which plant is which. The plant farthest away from me in the big plant is Plant 1. Then, going clockwise, Plant 2 and then Plant 3. The little pot is Plant 4 because I don't expect anything to happen here.

So far there are three little buds. They are a weird light green color right now.

It's currently just a little speck :)

Nothing from Plant 3, and nothing from Plant 4. The fact that I planted plants 1 and 2 later than Plant 4, yet they still sprouted first, leaves me with little hope for Plant 4. I think my mom was right, and I don't think the seeds in that pot are going to make it. I don't really understand why Plant 3 hasn't sprouted though. Maybe its because it's the furthest away from the "sun" in the big pot.
